The goal is to keep evolving over time. The idea is to continue refining our ideals and character till be can attain Godhood. To do this, we must keep raising our character, upgrading our emotions and strengthening our will… what better test do we have than temptation? Who better to test us than the devil?

In the christian holy book, we are told that Jesus fasted for forty days and nights and when he got back, he was tempted by …you guessed it, the devil. Now, theologians have found that Jesus was alone. The devil he was debating with were his own less-than-noble thoughts. Whatever the case though, we see that this devil, is ultimately there for our refinement. It may not be the smoothest way I would have thought of if I were in the shoes of the creators but no one can deny it’s effectiveness and genius.

I used to ask myself If God is so powerful, then why not destroy the devil and let us all have peace? But now I see how necessary the 'devil' is. Every level must have a test else we would never be able to measure growth.

If you go back to story in Part 1, we see that Luci was put there by the rich man to test his son. His son failed but that did not anger the rich man, it only revealed the progress level of the son and it showed he was still on his way and needed some more training. So it is also that we will screw up at times, we will get distracted from our main goal and set ourselves back a few days, months or even years. That however, is no reason to become despondent. We forge ahead and admit we made an error. We resolve to grow our will and do better the test presents itself.

There will always be tests if we want to be better versions of ourselves and this 'devil' is the most suitable test master. We may not like it, but that’s the way it is. We have been told that if we can resist the devil, he will flee. So for every time we felt tormented and we ultimately succumbed to temptation or distraction, we didn’t resist or we didn’t resist hard enough.

Grow the will by affirming your best version. Get knowledge and practice the truth as it concerns your vision. The only way to stop distraction is to pass the test. The only way to pass the test is to face distraction. If you look at it, it’s freakin' genius.
