A way to escape the Karmic Cycle
What goes around comes around…or does it?
In the bible, Jesus tells the story of a servant who is indebted to the King and being asked for his debt, he cries that he wants more time. The King takes pity on him and forgives him. But this servant wouldn’t forgive another servant who owes him money as well. Upon hearing how heartless this servant has been towards his fellow servant, the King un-forgives him and makes sure he pays everything he owed. You can read the full story here
Karma is the universe’s balance system that sees to it that we learn lessons while on earth and develop to our fullest potential. When we go good, we are rewarded with good karma and when we don’t do so great, we are rewarded with situations that will make us learn from our mistakes and be better. When we learn from any given situation, it fades away for us to continue on life’s journey.
Karma is not a bitch… it’s just that most times, we learn from adversity so it looks as though karma is serving us tough cards. Meanwhile, if we would look objectively, karma is serving up what we sow. That’s how balance is maintained.
So how does one escape?
Jesus' story gave us the answer already. Even when we read The Lord’s Prayer, we see a clear way of having our own wrongs erased. Still don’t know what it is? It’s forgiveness. Every day we have an opportunity to forgive someone, let’s endeavor to take it as we never know when we may need forgiveness ourselves.
Many of us are still on the path to perfection (or as close as we can get) and we make mistakes along the way. So our compassion lets the people upstairs know that we are maturing and that takes off some years from our own sentence. Remember the servant in the story. Even when he had been forgiven, his books were reopened because he refused to forgive and that is what many are facing today. Their past follows them around because they refuse to let other people’s past be in the past.
Forgive more to have your own karmic slate cleaned… I know it ain’t easy but hey; I didn’t write the rules.
Good Luck
